TULLAHOMA, Tennessee – April 1, 2014 – Tullahoma High School was saved from April Fools fireballs by portrait artist Norris Carden of Tullahoma, Tennessee today. Carden received a phone call at 11:40AM from THS principal Kathryn Rose who said that the school was having to put out “quite a few fireballs” because of an April Fools Facebook post. Mrs. Rose called to request that the post be removed. Mr. Carden’s quick actions in removing the post apparently saved countless THS students, faculty and staff members from any further fireballs. Around 9:30am on April 1, 2014, Carden had posted the following on Facebook:
I just heard that the THS yearbook this year has an unusually large number of seniors who didn’t get their senior formals done. Rather than having all of these students in the yearbook as “not pictured,” they decided to allow students to submit camera phone selfies.
Yearbook selfie guidelines:
Girls must wear a black v-neck tank top
Guys must wear a tuxedo tshirt
Solid background, such as the brick wall in the THS lobby
Selfie should be waist up, not full length
Center yourself in the pic
NO DUCK FACE
NO MIRROR SHOTS
Mr. Carden made yearbook advisor Liberty Dickman aware of the April Fools post by email. Ms. Dickman replied, “That was a good one!” Before the post was removed, several people had liked, shared and commented on the April Fools Post. Stacy Shuss, parent of THS senior Sarah Carney, commented, “That’s funny. I just wish they would let us use your picture.” When informed that Carden’s quick actions had saved THS from further fireballs, internationally acclaimed artist Michell Poulouin commented, “Yea… a True Savior!!!!! A town hero.” Norris Carden is an internationally recognized and published photographic artist specializing in portraits, weddings and commercial photography with a studio in Tullahoma, Tennessee. Many area high school seniors and their parents wish that the senior portraits created by Carden Photography could be published in the high school yearbook.
