Ok, follow the bouncing ball here… Peyton and Brooklyn are the daughters of the daughter of a cousin of my wife’s mother. Anyway, they’re in town visiting and dropped by to play with Mackenzie. We also ducked into the studio for a quick portrait session. It’s a challenge to combine the limited amounts of cooperation available with a 3 year old and a 4 month old. Here is what can happen when they are in sync.

It’s one thing to capture senior portraits for new friends and clients. It’s another to capture the senior portraits of your family. Garrett is a nephew living outside Briggs, TX. Our families happened to be visiting my wife’s mother in Shreveport, LA at the same time so we planned for the photo session.
Now Shreveport is the last city where I worked as a television news photographer. I spent over six years there and had several ideas about where to get some great shots. This one happened off of East Texas Street in a row of largely empty buildings.

Since it’s the 4th of July, I dug out this image of Josie. Her man is a Marine currently deployed… our prayers are with him.
So celebrate the birth of the greatest nation on the planet today. Oh yeah, don’t forget to tell our troops, veterans and their families how much you appreciate their hard work and sacrifices.

Katie is a fun and determined young lady who knows exactly where she’s going… Florida! Since I graduated from Tennessee, I had to point out how we have much better orange.
Anyway, we had a great session and she has lots of wallets to hand out to her friends. This is the image everyone says really captured the real Katie.
